2 weeks old!

It's a little scary how fast time is flying. Today was my first day back to class. Thankfully, only one teacher was insistent I come today. So I had only one class instead of three. Evan had a great night last night and a decent day today. We think he might be slightly colicky. It's weird to think that he was born two weeks ago today. He seems bigger already... Kenny wants to go and get a baby scale tomorrow. We went to the doctor last Friday to get him weighed again (just to make sure he was staying on track). The little piggy weighed 8 lbs and 11 oz, so he had put on 6 oz in three days! While we were in the waiting room, a couple of other newborns came in after us. It really made us realize that he doesn't really look like a newborn. His little face is getting chubby, and he is starting to be awake for awhile without crying. We had a really rough night Tuesday night. I was getting really frustrated because he wouldn't feed and ended up crying too. Kenny, because he is amazing, took him to let me try to rest. Neither of us ended up getting much sleep, but we made up for that last night. The hardest thing about having a newborn is nothing is predictable! Everything has to be done on the fly, and sleep comes only when you can steal a few moments. But I still think it's worth it! I've never been so tired, but I don't think I've ever been so proud or patient. It's amazing how much love you can have for someone you've only known a couple of weeks...
